Our Origins

The origins of the Group date back to 1871 and are of an industrial nature, in the construction sector.

In 1944, the company name NORBA appeared in Geneva and with it, activity in the real estate sector through a sister company Immopart Financement S.A.

It was in 1984, after the sale of industrial activities, that our current legal entity was founded in Geneva, and adopted the current company name NORINVEST HOLDING SA (NIH).

Norinvest

From Real Estate to Finance

It was not until the end of the 1980s that the financial services division of the Group was established through Norfinance.

In the early 1990s, with the support of institutional investors, Norfinance SA was structured with a presence in the cantons of Geneva, Vaud, and Ticino, offering a wide range of services related to the organization of personal wealth and wealth management in particular.

Following the separation from institutional investors, the merger in June 2002 with Messieurs Cramer & Cie (LBVM) allowed the NIH Group to evolve towards banking services.

  • In 2003, Cramer & Cie SA quickly obtained a banking license and changed its name to BANQUE CRAMER & CIE SA after a significant capital increase. Today, NIH owns 100% of BANQUE CRAMER & CIE SA.

  • In 2007, NIH acquired 100% of the capital of LAG Finances SA and thus, through LAG Finances SA, took control of GOLAY BUCHEL HOLDING SA. The GOLAY Group was then listed on the stock exchange (SIX-Zurich) and was active worldwide for over a century in the field of pearls, precious stones, and jewellery.

  • NIH would then gradually take full control of the GOLAY Group, which would be gradually liquidated, the proceeds of which would be reallocated to the development of the financial division of the NIH Group.
